Miss Ruby

Ms. Ruby hails from San Francisco, California, where she began dancing at age 4. She spent 15 years as a member of the Grrrl Brigade Dance Company at Dance Mission Theater and also trained with ODC Dance Company and Alonzo King Lines Ballet, specializing in ballet and contemporary. Her extensive experience includes hip hop, belly dance, salsa, Afro-Brazilian, Bhangra, and Taiko drumming.

At 15, Ms. Ruby discovered her passion for teaching, starting as a teaching assistant and eventually leading her own creative movement classes at Dance Mission Theater. She is a recent graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles with a major in Sociology and a minor in Education.

This is Ms. Ruby’s fourth season with the Reach For The Barres family. She is thrilled to share her deep love for dance with our students, especially the little ones who are so eager to learn and grow. We are so happy to have her on our team as we continue to help dancers of all ages grow into capable, compassionate, and creative individuals.
