Mini & Me is a joyful parent-and-child dance experience designed to introduce our youngest dancers to the magic of movement. Through music, imagination, Ballet-inspired movement, Hip Hopscotch activities, tumbling exploration, and creative play, children and caregivers discover movement together in a supportive and engaging environment.

Dancers develop coordination, balance, body awareness, rhythm, and social-emotional skills while building confidence through exploration and connection. Hip Hopscotch incorporates locomotor movement, gross motor development, body identification, and creative movement activities that encourage children to move, explore, and express themselves.

Toddler Ballet & Tap is designed for young dancers who are ready to begin participating independently while continuing to develop confidence, coordination, rhythm, and classroom skills.

Through age-appropriate Ballet and Tap instruction, dancers explore movement, music, imagination, and creativity while building balance, body awareness, listening skills, and coordination. Students begin learning classroom routines, taking turns, following directions, and participating as part of a group in a supportive environment where growth is celebrated every step of the way.

At Reach For The Barres, Toddler Dance is about more than taking a class. It helps children build confidence, independence, and a joyful relationship with movement from the very beginning.

Through songs, movement activities, and creative exploration, dancers strengthen gross motor skills, social-emotional awareness, and the confidence that comes from trying something new.

Preparing for the Next Step

Pre-Pointe is a specialized Ballet training class designed to help dancers develop the strength, alignment, technique, and body awareness necessary for future Pointe work. Through targeted exercises and age-appropriate conditioning, dancers build the physical foundations that support safe and successful progression into Pointe training.

Students focus on strengthening the feet, ankles, legs, core, and overall alignment while deepening their understanding of Ballet technique and proper movement mechanics. Class activities may include strengthening exercises, flexibility training, balance work, injury-prevention concepts, and introductory Pointe readiness exercises.

At Reach For The Barres, Pre-Pointe is about more than preparing for Pointe shoes. It teaches dancers the value of patience, preparation, and building strong foundations before taking on new challenges.

Through consistent training and thoughtful progression, dancers learn that meaningful achievements are built through dedication, discipline, and a commitment to growth.

Eligibility

Pre-Pointe is available to dancers who:

✔ Have successfully completed Ballet L1B

✔ Are at least 9.5 years of age

✔ Are enrolled in a Ballet class during Season 12

Enrollment is by instructor recommendation and placement.

Participation in Pre-Pointe does not guarantee advancement to Pointe. Dancers progress toward Pointe training at different rates based on strength, alignment, technique, maturity, and overall readiness.

Our goal is not simply to begin Pointe work, but to ensure dancers are prepared to do so safely and successfully.

POINTE

Strength, Discipline, and Artistry

Pointe is a specialized form of Ballet training that allows dancers to perform on the tips of their toes through the use of specially designed pointe shoes. Rooted in strong technical foundations, Pointe challenges dancers to combine strength, alignment, control, artistry, and precision at an advanced level.

Because Pointe places unique demands on a dancer’s body, readiness is determined through careful evaluation of strength, technique, alignment, maturity, and training consistency. At Reach For The Barres, dancer safety and long-term development always come first.

At Reach For The Barres, Pointe is about more than dancing on your toes. It represents the dedication, discipline, and strong foundations that allow dancers to pursue new challenges safely and confidently.

Through consistent training, thoughtful progression, and supportive instruction, dancers learn that meaningful achievements are built through patience, preparation, and perseverance.

Eligibility

Pointe is available to dancers who demonstrate the strength, technique, alignment, maturity, and consistency necessary for safe Pointe training.

To be considered for Pointe, dancers must:

✔ Be at least 11 years of age

✔ Be enrolled in Ballet L2 or higher

✔ Be enrolled in a Ballet technique class during Season 12

✔ Be enrolled in any required supplemental training as determined by their instructors

✔ Receive instructor recommendation and approval

Please Note

Pointe readiness is not determined by age alone. Every dancer develops at a different pace, and we believe the safest and most successful Pointe journeys begin when a dancer is truly prepared for the demands of training en pointe.

While dancers must be at least 11 years old and enrolled in Ballet L2 or higher to be considered for Pointe, age and level alone do not guarantee readiness. Strength, alignment, technique, training consistency, and overall physical development are all carefully evaluated before a dancer is approved for Pointe work.

Pointe training is designed to complement, not replace, a dancer’s Ballet education. Continued enrollment in Ballet technique classes is required to support the strength, artistry, and technical development necessary for safe and successful Pointe training.

Our goal is not simply to begin Pointe work, but to ensure dancers are prepared to do so safely, successfully, and with confidence.

POM

Pom is a high-energy dance style that combines strong technical foundations, sharp movement, performance quality, and teamwork. Known for its precision, synchronization, and spirited energy, Pom encourages dancers to move with confidence while developing strength, coordination, musicality, and performance skills.
