Welcome to Miss Dina’s Virtual Dance Floor!
Miss Dina’s favorite Sophie Dance Atwater memory is her very first day, meeting her new students and families. Fast forward 2 years, and she’s still dancing her way into the very heart of our community, and she continues to foster a love of movement for dancers both big and small. While she grew up in snowy Connecticut, building snow-tunnels with her 5 brothers, her disposition is just as warm and welcoming as the California sunshine. These days at home, she is pursuing her Kinesiology studies as she works toward applying to grad school for her Physical Therapy doctorate. She’s also discovered how to make her own candles and has built her own ballet barre to keep her dancing at home.
She’s thrilled to be sharing some of her Top 3 picks for Children’s Books, Movies, and Music below! We hope you and your dancer enjoy!
Top 3 Children’s Books: Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?, by Dr. Seuss, Junie B. Jones, by Barbara Park, The Pokey Little Puppy, by Janette Sebring Lowrey
Top 3 Children’s Movies: The Lion King, Free Willy, Elf
Top 3 Tunes to Dance to: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, by Whitney Houston, Can’t Stop the Feeling, by Justin Timberlake, September, from Trolls Soundtrack
Teacher Spotlight: Miss Dina

Welcome to Miss Alison’s Virtual Dance Floor!
When Miss Alison isn’t donning her teacher’s hat for her virtual classes, you’d find her in her home office, working as tech support for the Sophie Dance Atwater location. As a former school teacher, Miss Alison is thrilled to be aboard a team that is committed to creating many kinds of virtual experiences for children during this time, including her personal fave, Storybook Sunday (see previous blog posts). In her spare time these days, she enjoys catching up on her reading list, photographing her neighborhood nature walks, cooking up new recipes, virtually connecting to her friends, and attending her own live streamed dance classes as a student!
