In 2023 we want to take time to recognize all the wonderful people that make this studio possible. We have an amazing staff with qualifications out of the roof… but they are more than just dancers and educators. So for the next couple of weeks, we will be getting to know the humans behind the teacher, and their little fun facts.

This week we are diving into the little details of Miss Maraya!

There are many colors out there in the world, and she couldn’t possibly choose just one. The colors that have caught attention of Miss Maraya are FOREST GREEN🌲 & LILAC PURPLE🦄! Two colors that are complete opposites but two she loves dearly. This shade of purple has her thinking of spring flowers, and this particular green makes her think of the forests she grew up in. So we completely understand why she loves them so.

When it comes to food Miss Maraya loves the loves PASTA🍝. In any shape, way, or form she will take it. You can never go wrong with a big warm bowl of it’s  goodness❤️. The best pasta she ever had naturally is the variety she indulge in while in Italy.

Maraya couldn’t go a single day without music🎵. Her life is full of it. Everything has a soundtrack in her world. From the dance classes she teaches to the songs she listens to in the car. It is truly hard for her to pick one favorite song. But some of her favorites are ‘Grey Street’ By Dave Matthews Band, ‘Adore You’ By Harry Styles, and a new favorite ‘Ceilings’ Lizzie McApline.🙌

Anyone who knows Maraya will know who her favorite artist is without a doubt🎤. She doesn’t go a day without listening to this artist, and has been a fan for over a decade⌛️. Her love and appreciation started early on in his boyband days. Harry Styles captured her heart and ears in 2011. She makes sure anytime he is in town that she has a ticket to his show!🎟

We are made of memories☁️, and as we grow older we become a product of all the things we have experienced along the way. Some memories stick out more than others💬. She looks back fondly on her summers with her family. Every year Maraya’s family and her moms best friend and their family would spend 2 weeks at the beach together. Without fail every year was filled with sunshine☀️, 4th of July celebrations🇺🇸, and carnivals🎡. She looked forward to this time with the people that meant most to her every year.

Even though everyone here is an amazing dancer our teachers are much more than that. Outside of the studio, Miss Maraya loves to write✍️. From short stories to poems she loves to create worlds with pen & paper. It’s another way for her to be creative, and express her heart. She also loves to read📖. Which is no surprise since she loves to write. She loves that you can get lost in a story. Miss Maraya could spend a whole day reading and never get bored.🤩

Possessions can come in many different shapes or forms. There are 2 items that Miss Maraya holds near and dear to her. Both belonging to her mother. She keeps her mothers engagement ring 💍in a safe space🔐 & wears on extra special occasions. But the one she couldn’t live without is the necklace her mom wore everyday. It’s something that has been passed down form mother to mother for generations👩‍👩‍👧. Whenever Miss Maraya isn’t at the studio she has is on her neck.

Our teachers here at Reach For the Barres are fountains of knowledge⛲️. They are people who are full of amazing advice. What Miss Maraya would like to pass on to the students here is “Always stay true to yourself. Never sacrifice yourself or what you believe in for others”💕

These are just a few of the things that make Miss Maraya so special!

This week we are diving into the little details of Miss Iydan!

There are many colors out there in the world, and she couldn’t possibly choose just one. The colors that have caught attention of Miss Iydan are PINK🌸 & PURPLE💜! Two colors that seems like cousins. Purple is the color of royalty, and pink makes us think of all things sweet. So we completely understand why she loves them so.

When it comes to food Miss Iydan loves the savory goodness of a good french fry! They pair well with just about anything, and come in many forms. You can dress them up any way you’d like, or keep them simple and salty. Truly who doesn’t love a good ‘ol french fry now and then?

Music is the love language of one Miss Iydan❤️. It’s a big part of who she is. Her favorite song is constantly changing. But with all the music out there how could it not for such a music lover🎵? Today the songs that get her heart singing is ‘Do It’ by Chloe X Halle and ‘Lovergirl’ by Teena Marie.

Just like with song our teacher of the week believes there are too many amazing artists out there to pick just one☝️. So here are a few at the top of her long list of song birds🎤🦜: Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Mariah Carey, and Brandy!

We are made a memories☁️, and as we grow older we become a product all the things we have experienced along the way. Some memories stick our more than others💬. At the end of the day memories are things we have to old onto throughout our life time. Miss Iydan’s all time favorite memories were made during the summer in her home state of main with her family.🌲

Even though everyone here is an amazing dancer our teachers are much more than that. Outside of the studio, Miss Iydan loves anything related to making and listening to music🎼 . When she wants to relax she loves to crack open a book 📚 or get to some writing of down of her own. If she needs a little brain teacher that calms the soul at the same time she will take to a puzzle.🧩

Possessions can come in many different shapes or forms. Some things are tangible, others are things that live within us like the memories we hold from walking through life. Miss Iydan’s most prized possession is her journals📓. She loves writing ✍️ and keeping all the journals that she’s written over the years.

Our teachers here at Reach For the Barres are fountains of knowledge⛲️. They are people who are full of amazing advice. What Miss Iydan would like to pass on to the students here is “Try EVERYTHING. You’re never gonna now where you’re gonna find your passion, or maybe meet your new best friend, so don’t be afraid to step out of your box.”💕

These are just a few of the things that make Miss Iydan so special!

In the New Year, we want to take time to recognize all the wonderful people that make this studio possible. We have an amazing staff with qualifications out of the roof… but they are more than just dancers and educators. So for the next couple of weeks, we will be getting to know the humans behind the teacher, and their little fun facts.

This week we are diving into the little details of Miss Ruby!

There are many colors in the rainbow, but the one that has caught Miss Ruby’s eye is PINK!🌸 Who doesn’t appreciate a little pink every once in a while? Have you ever had the Starbucks pink drink? That’s reason enough to enjoy the color!

When it comes to food Miss Ruby will never turn down watermelon 🍉 The best time to enjoy this flavor-filled fruit is SUMMER! Anything that pairs well with the summertime heat is a win in our book.

Florence + The Machine has plenty of good music, but when it comes to favorites the song that brightens Miss Ruby’s day is ‘Dog Days Are Over’🐶. Next time you’re feeling a little gloom and doom pop on that song and we promise those spirits will be lifted!

Miss Ruby may love the song ‘Dog Days Are Over’, but her favorite Artist of all time is RIHANNA! And we can’t argue with that choice. She has music spanning over 2 decades that can make you cry, dance your heart out, and make you embrace the strength behind being a woman! 👗

She has done a lot in her life, but there is nothing like a childhood memory that sticks with you forever. When Miss Ruby was a little girl she started taking dance class🩰, and that remained her favorite memory. It gave her friends, confidence, and a skill set that she will have forever. Dance provides soo much for a young person, and we believe every child should dance at some point in their life.

Even though everyone here is an amazing dancer our teachers are much more than that. Outside of the studio, Miss Ruby loves to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with her friends. But of course, she also loves to dance.

These are just a few of the things that make Miss Ruby so special!

SPREADING KINDNESS IN THE NEW YEAR

A lot of the new year is focused on ways to improve ourselves, and what a better way to do just that than by spreading kindness. You never know how far you small acts can go for someone else!

Below we will dive into 3 simple ways to spreed kindness this year❤️

LET SOMEONE KNOW YOU APPRECIATE THEM!

Words hold a lot of power. All it takes is a few simple words to lift someone’s day. Your friends and family know you love them, but hearing it more often will never be a bad thing. That goes for other people that you come across in your every day life as well. Whether it’s barista or your teacher at school let them know you appreciate the task they have done for you in that moment, or just in general. The 💪🏼 behind a “THANK YOU” is immense!

DO A FAVOR WITHOUT ASKING FOR ANYTHING IN RETURN

Think of someone who goes above and beyond for you. Could be a parent or guardian. The teachers you see everyday or an older sibling. They do many things for you because they truly care. What could you do for them? Something that makes their day easier of course! You can make sure you room at home or work space as school is always clean. It could alleviate some of their everyday stressors, and give them one less thing to worry about. If you are the older sibling try helping out with your smallest family member once in a while. Any big or small task to make the day easier for the person you care about will go further than you may think. The 🔑 is NOT as for something in return for the favor you gave!

SMILE

Look people in the eyes when you give them a grin. This is such a simple way to spread kindness, and it’s another freebie! Be generous with your smile and put feeling into it. Smile at cashiers, waiters and baristas, mail carriers, and other people you come in contact with. This easy gesture can brighten people’s day. ☀️
