Dear Dance Families,

The energy in our studio is always rooted in kindness, community, and the belief that every dancer deserves to be seen, celebrated, and supported. Today, I want to share a deeply personal reason why that value of community means so much to me.

This month is an important time for Blood Cancer Awareness, a cause profoundly close to my heart. My own mother, a light in my life, lost her battle with a rare blood cancer a year ago in June. Her memory inspires me every day to fight—a fight to give others the hope, support, and opportunities she didn’t have.

This is why Reach For The Barres is partnering with Chrysalis Fitness to host a powerful, two-part fundraising event on Sunday, October 5th.

Move, Connect, and Save Lives with RFTB

This is more than just a class; it’s a chance to turn movement into a movement!

  • The Cause: Proceeds from the fitness classes will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, now Blood Cancer United, an organization doing life-saving work.
  • The Class: Join us for a heart-pumping, sweaty, joyful barre workout at 2:00 PM or 3:30 PM. Secure your spot and donate by booking your class now!
  • The Ultimate Impact: While donations are wonderful, the most impactful way to give back is to become a potential bone marrow donor. If you’re 18 to 35 years old, we’ll have an easy, painless NMDP donor registration booth set up. It takes minutes to give a sample that could literally save a life. This small act of community is monumental.

My hope is that through our collective action, we can raise vital money, awareness, and opportunities so that other families don’t have to face this battle alone.

Let’s standing together for a beautiful cause.

Unpacking Your Dancer’s “All About Me” Sheet!

If you picked up a Welcome Box or Welcome Back Bag this season, you might have found a bright, fun worksheet titled “All About Me!” (Take a peek at the adorable design below!)

This sheet is more than just a piece of paper—it’s one of our favorite tools for connecting with every dancer who walks through our doors!

Why We Ask “All About Me!”

Three weeks down, and we’ve loved every moment with our amazing dancers! 💖 As we head into week four, we want to give a friendly reminder to turn your dancer’s “All About Me” sheet in to their instructors.

Why do we ask you to take the time to fill them out?

  • Build Stronger Connections: These sheets are a valuable tool for our staff to get to know our dancers better—from their favorite color to their dance dreams! Knowing little details helps us engage them in class, offer personalized encouragement, and tailor our approach to their interests.
  • Make Every Dancer Feel Seen: Knowing their favorite song or what they want to be when they grow up helps us build stronger connections and make every dancer, big or small, feel celebrated and seen as a whole person, not just a student.
  • Keep the Tradition Going: We love looking back! We actually have “All About Me” pages going back nearly 10 years for some of our current students, and it’s a wonderful tradition we love to keep alive.

A Quick Reminder for Week Four!

If your dancer has already submitted their sheet—thank you! If not, please help us make this season the most personal and connected one yet by sending it in this week.

If you’ve misplaced your sheet, no worries! Just Reach out to us and we’ll happily send you a link to print a new one at home.

Let’s make this Season 11 the best one yet! ✨

The energy in the studio for Season 11 is absolutely electric! We’ve felt it in every plié, heard it in every tap, and seen it in every smile. We love our annual tradition of choosing a catchy phrase to define the year, and this season is no exception!

We’re thrilled to officially announce our Season 11 Slogan:

ELEVATE & CELEBRATE!

This powerful phrase is more than just a saying; it embodies everything we stand for here at Reach for the Barres:

  • ELEVATE: This is our call to action. It means challenging ourselves in class, pushing past our comfort zone, perfecting a technique, and committing to those daily habits. We’re aiming for a higher standard of focus, artistry, and self-belief. Let’s elevate our skills, our commitment, and our performance!
  • CELEBRATE: This is our heart. It reminds us that the journey is just as important as the destination. We’ll be taking time to celebrate every milestone—the tiny victory of finally getting a step, the joy of performing, the strength of our dance family, and the dedication of our amazing faculty.

Together, we will work hard to ELEVATE our dancing, and we promise to always CELEBRATE the unique spirit and progress of every dancer who steps through our doors.

Get ready for a season of reaching new heights! – XO, Reyana
