At Reach For The Barres, Valentine’s Day is about more than hearts and sweet treats.

It’s about friendship.
It’s about courage.
It’s about belonging.

Inside our studio walls, love looks like dancers cheering each other on when a turn finally comes. It looks like shy little ones holding hands as they step into the center of the room. It sounds like giggles between pliés and high fives after across-the-floor.

And it feels like confidence growing in real time.

Where Friendship Begins

For many of our dancers, the studio is where they meet their first true friends. Not just classmates, but teammates. The kind who practice together, encourage each other, and celebrate one another’s wins.

Dance has a beautiful way of building connection. When children move together, learn choreography together, and work through challenges together, something special happens. They build trust. They build resilience. They build community.

These friendships are not accidental. They are part of our values.

We believe confidence grows best in a space where dancers feel seen, supported, and celebrated. And when that happens, friendships flourish naturally.

Our Valentine’s Observation Week

This week, we wrapped up our Valentine’s Observation Week for our Primary and younger dancers.

Families were invited in to witness a little glimpse of what happens in class. The growth. The focus. The joy. The friendships forming right before their eyes.

These observation moments are some of our favorites because they allow parents to see not just the steps, but the confidence their dancers are building. The bravery it takes to stand tall. The pride in remembering choreography. The comfort of standing next to a friend.

For our level-based dancers, we’ve shared special Valentine touchpoints inside the Parent Portal and on the Reach For The Barres App. Even when families aren’t physically inside the room, we love making sure you still feel connected to your dancer’s journey.

Because partnership matters. Community matters.

More Than a Season

As we move through Season 11 together, we’re reminded that what we’re building here goes far beyond technique.

We are building friendships that carry dancers through recital nerves.
We are building confidence that shows up at school and in life.
We are building a studio community that feels like home.

And that may be the sweetest Valentine of all.

To our dance families, thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for cheering them on. Thank you for being part of this community that chooses encouragement, growth, and connection again and again.

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Reach For The Barres. 💗

Our Friend Referral Program 💖

One of our favorite things about Reach For The Barres is how our community grows. So many of our dancers arrive because a friend said, “Come dance with me.” That kind of word of mouth means everything to us, and we love getting to say thank you for it.

That’s where our Friend Referral Program comes in.

How it works

When you refer a friend to try one of our trial classes and they list your name when registering, you’ll receive $15 in tuition credit added directly to your account. Easy, breezy, and a little bit magical.

Why we love referrals so much

Dance is even more fun when you get to share it with someone you know. Referrals help us welcome new families who already feel connected, and they help us continue growing a studio rooted in community, joy, and belonging.

A few helpful notes

  • Your friend must list you as the referral when registering for their trial class in order for the credit to apply

  • Credits are added once the trial is complete

  • There’s no limit. Refer more friends, earn more credit

Ready to spread the word?

Invite a friend, bring them along for a trial class, and let us take it from there. Whether it’s a bestie from school, a neighbor, or a sibling’s friend, we love welcoming new dancers into the RFTB family.

Thanks for helping our community grow, one dance friend at a time. Yay! 💕
