Meet Bama!!🫶🏼 You’ve definitely seen Bama Meet Bama!!🫶🏼 You’ve definitely seen Bama around the studio, danced with them at camp, or watched them on stage, as they’ve been dancing at RFTB for 9 years now! 💙 Bama is in our senior company, and is graduating this year and heading off to Emerson! 🎉🏆🥹💕 We sat down with Bama to ask a few questions: Q. How has being a part of RFTB influenced you as a dancer and person? “I am a more hardworking and caring person because of RFTB. Being taught by so many different teachers and styles of dance has been so beneficial to me as a person. Contemporary has offered me a platform to express myself emotionally while hip hop has grounded me and connected me with my body. Specifically growing up at this studio through my teenage years has been incredible as I’m transitioning into adulthood and maturing and changing. The past 9 years that I’ve spent at the studio have been some of the most heartwarming and life-changing days of my life.” Q. What is your favorite memory from your time here? “Truly all of the moments when I get the chance to see the younger kids dance. Seeing their faces light up when they perform and the joy in their eyes when they are so focused on what they love to do is so inspiring. Watching them grow up here has been a whirlwind of emotions, not only proud but emotional.” Q.What will you miss most about the community here? “The people. I have met not only incredible teachers, but also amazing and talented friends that have inspired me in my everyday life. I find myself talking about them more than anyone else. It is so beneficial to learn from a younger generation while also being able to teach them the life skills I have to share.” Q. What advice would you give your younger self/younger dancers? “Take every chance you get to learn new things. Do not be afraid to hold back what you are capable of, even if you fail.” 🙌🏼
